Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning. When one of you sneezes and praises Allah, it is a duty on every Muslim to say to him: May Allah have mercy on you. As for yawning, it is from Satan. When one of you yawns, let him hold it back as much as he can. When one of you yawns, Satan laughs at him.” Bukhari

 

One of the commentaries of this hadith is that when someone yawns excessively, the Shaytan likes how the face of the human being is disfigured when we yawn.

 

A modern day concern is in the way we can change our looks using the filters on our phones, especially to make a disfigured ugly image – this is what Shaytan likes.

 

The form of the human body is sanctified and it is a beckoning of shaytan that we should hate our bodies and forms and want to change it.

 

As mentioned in Allah SWT’s statement by the very tongue of the devil who says “…and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allâh…” Quran 4:119
